September 30, 2026 · Feature HighlightsPicture a normal agency month. Back in spring, you launched a client site with a looping hero video, the one the client fell in love with in the first design review. It looks great. Nobody has touched it since. Then a Webflow invoice lands with a bandwidth add-on the client has never seen before, and the email that follows has your name in the subject line.
That scene has become a lot more common in 2026. It's also exactly the problem Flowdrive was built to solve.
What changed on Webflow this year?
On May 13, 2026, Webflow retired its CMS and Business site plans and merged them into a single plan called Premium. It costs $25 a month billed yearly or $39 billed monthly, and it doubles the CMS limit to 20,000 items. That part is good news.
The catch is in the bandwidth line. The old Business plan included 100GB a month. Premium includes 50GB. Existing sites move over at their next renewal, and if a site went past 50GB in either of the previous two billing months, Webflow attaches bandwidth add-ons to cover it automatically. The Basic plan, for comparison, includes just 10GB.
Fifty gigabytes sounds like plenty until you do the maths with video. A single 15MB hero video uses it up in roughly 3,300 plays. For a marketing site with real traffic, that can be a busy week. Every gigabyte past the allowance works out to about $0.40 in add-ons, based on Webflow's published rates of $20 per extra 50GB billed yearly, or $30 billed monthly.
There's one more limit worth knowing: Webflow's form file uploads stop at 10MB per file.
Flowdrive is a media hosting service made specifically for Webflow sites. You put your heavy files on Flowdrive (videos, PDFs, downloads, press kits, course content) and it stores them and delivers them through Cloudflare's global network, usually from a subdomain on your own domain, something like media.yourclient.com.
Because those files never pass through Webflow's hosting, they don't count toward the Webflow bandwidth meter at all.
Offloading big assets isn't a new idea. People have been doing it for years with Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Firebase, Vimeo or Bunny. The real difference is who can set it up. Buckets, CORS rules and signed URLs are fine if you're a developer. If you're a design team, it's one more dashboard nobody knows how to open. Flowdrive's whole approach is that a designer can do everything without leaving the Webflow Designer.
Peter Claridge from StreamAlive put it plainly in his review: his team had lots of short videos that needed to autoplay and loop, Vimeo didn't suit that, and S3 and Firebase were too complicated for the non-developers on the team.
Flowdrive has a native app in the Webflow marketplace, which its site lists at around 11,000 installs. Once it's on your project, the workflow is short:
That third step is easy to skip, and it shouldn't be. Visitors and clients never see an unfamiliar domain in a download link, and the content stays tied to your own site.
One detail people often miss: Flowdrive is built for Webflow first, but every file lives at a normal URL, so embeds and downloads work anywhere a link works.
The best-known Flowdrive story involves Chili Piper, the SaaS scheduling company, and its Webflow agency, Tilipman Digital.
Chili Piper's high-traffic pages were full of large assets, and the bandwidth was pushing the site toward Webflow's Enterprise plan. The quote was $65,000 a year. Their existing plan cost $2,388 a year. Same site, same design; the only thing that had changed was traffic.
Instead of upgrading, the agency moved the heaviest assets to Flowdrive without touching the layout. The site stayed on its existing plan, and Evgenii Tilipman estimates the move saved Chili Piper more than $60,000 a year. For a sense of scale, Flowdrive reports delivering 96TB of video and files in May 2026, across 70 million requests from 321 teams serving live traffic.
For agencies, the timing matters. If client sites in your Workspace will move to the new plans after November 16, it's much easier to shift the heavy media now than to explain a surprise add-on later.
The free plan is enough to test the workflow on one project. For most people, that's the quickest way to find out whether Flowdrive earns a place in the stack.
